The Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI) and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) commissioned a study to assess Minnesota’s food and beverage manufacturing capabilities to identify gaps, opportunities and potential strategies that can support “ready‐to‐scale” food and beverage businesses.

The report was conducted in response to a perceived lack of access to affordable and appropriate manufacturing options in Minnesota for growing, ready-to-scale small food and beverage businesses. As a first step, insights from the study highlight potential pain points that risk the loss of these businesses to the state as well as opportunities for attracting new food and beverage businesses to the ecosystem.

Join AURI, the MDA, the Region Nine Development Commission and The Amazing Chickpea on February 10th as we outline the preliminary findings of this research and explore strategies to support Minnesota’s small food businesses.
