AURI Hosting Hemp Erosion Control Field Day

The Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI) and the Minnesota Department of Transportation (MNDOT) are hosting a hemp erosion control field day and product demonstration.

The free event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 27, 2023, at the MnROAD Research Facility, 9011 77th St. SE; Monticello, MN 55362. Media members are invited to attend. Registration is now open.
Throughout the day, presenters will discuss why hemp is an effective erosion control product, processes for installing hemp-based materials at MnROAD, current research on functional longevity for erosion prevention products and the benefits of erosion prevention and sediment control innovations. There will also be a field observation session.

This event is part of a collaboration by AURI, MNDOT and the Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA). Funding for this project was provided by the Minnesota Environment and Natural Resources Trust Fund as recommended by the Legislative-Citizen Commission on Minnesota Resources (LCCMR).
