AURI Connects: Fields of Innovation — From Setback to Success: How Failure Can Create Opportunity
Failure isn’t bad… if we learn from it.
Minnesota has a robust and growing food and ag ecosystem, but among the many successes that have developed from its participants, there have been numerous – but often hidden – examples where things didn’t go as planned. To help avoid failures of similar scenarios in the future, we need to rethink failure as a learning opportunity.
While we often hear about and celebrate successes, there are many bumps on the road to innovative solutions. The Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI) would like to gather participants across the Minnesota food and agriculture ecosystem to highlight the projects and ideas that didn’t succeed. There are many lessons to be learned from failures and setbacks, yet few spaces exist for open discussion and brainstorming. We intend to start a conversation and lead a collaborative effort to learn together and from each other – to re-envision failed ideas and the creative solutions stakeholders along the supply chain have implemented to enable a pivot toward achievement.
Join AURI and our value-added agriculture partners on August 23, 2022 at Milk + Honey Ciders in St. Joseph, MN for good food and a different kind of conversation. We’ll kick off the event with an engaged speaker to frame the topic and then transition to a ‘failing forward forum’ to hear from a select group of presenters before opening up the discussion to participants. Whether you have something to share or something to learn in relation to your innovation journey, we hope to see you there!
AURI Connects is proud to present this Fields of Innovation showcase event, sponsored by Bremer Bank, Minnesota Farmers Union, and the Initiative Foundation.
