Food production is already a vital industry in Minnesota and it holds the potential to do even more to grow the state’s economy.
On Wednesday, June 30th at the Minnesota Landscape Arboretum, a consortium of food processing organizations will begin a conversation on the recently released Minnesota Food Production Sector: Growing Green Jobs Report, and on launching innovations in the state.
This legislatively-directed Green Jobs Report looks at Minnesota’s food production sector through diverse perspectives on growing Minnesota’s green economy and agricultural jobs. A number of strategic observations and dozens of key action items were identified in the report. The June 30th event will begin turning the report into action by engaging people in the industry to foster collaboration that will give Minnesota businesses a competitive advantage.
This kickoff event is an invitation to those who are interested, involved, and knowledgeable about Minnesota’s food production industry. Whether involved in agri-processing, urban agriculture, local food distribution, or food production, this event offers a chance to learn about market opportunities, identify resources for overcoming barriers, and creating a vision for the future of Minnesota’s food production industry. Additionally, the event provides an opportunity to engage in a cross-sector network focused on bringing innovation and competitive advantage to Minnesota’s food industry.
