Amid the corn and soybean seed plots, tractors, combines and other farm implements, Farmfest visitors can also get a glimpse into the future.
AURI’s display at Farmfest 2010 will feature examples of agricultural innovations in the areas of bio-based products, food, bio-based energy and coproduct utilization. Located on lot 612 of the Farmfest grounds, the AURI exhibit will include food sampling, taste panels and information on applied research activities designed to move agricultural products into new places.
“Innovations aren’t taking place just in the development of new equipment, they’re also happening in the development of new ways to use agricultural products and coproducts,” says Dan Lemke, AURI communications director. “We have farm products being used in plastics, crop extractions being used for food ingredients and processing leftovers being used for everything from fuels to animal comfort products. It really is remarkable what’s occurring and this AURI’s chance to show people what is happening.”
