AURI’s coproducts utilization program will be the focus of an upcoming national television show about of all things, cats.
While that may seem like an odd combination, AURI has done significant work testing and assisting in the development of several cat litter products made from Minnesota-grown agricultural products. AURI scientists Alan Doering and Kevin Hennessy have done a variety of tests for the natural litters including odor control, sorbency, clumping and more.
That work is being featured on an Animal Planet show called “Must Love Cats.” The shows host, John Fulton, and a television production crew spent an entire day in AURI’s laboratory in Waseca learning more about what goes into developing and testing natural litters.
