Midwest Bioenergy Celebration Explores Biomass Energy Expansion for Heat and Power

ST. PAUL, Minn. (October 14, 2019) –The Agricultural Utilization Research Institute’s Minnesota’s Renewable Energy Roundtable, Heating the Midwest, and Koda Energy LLC are partnering to hold the Midwest Bioenergy Celebration on National Bioenergy Day, Oct. 23, 2019.

With the weather cooling and the heating season approaching, the efficient production and use of heat and energy remains an important factor for industrial and commercial operations in the Midwest. This full-day facilities tour will explore the benefits of renewable energy, specifically biomass, for thermal processes and how commercial space heating is achievable utilizing biomass energy.

Four innovative facilities utilizing biomass energy will participate followed by an evening networking reception, program and dinner.  The participating businesses are:  Koda Energy LLC, Rahr Malting, Ever-Green Energy and Len-Busch Roses.

The tour will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Koda Energy LLC and transportation will be provided to attendees to the remaining tour locations where lunch will be provided. Participants will return to Koda Energy at 5 p.m. for a networking reception followed by a program and dinner.  The keynote speaker is Joe Sullivan, Deputy Commissioner of Energy Resources, Minnesota Department of Commerce. Heating the Midwest will also present its Outstanding Project and Leadership awards this year during the evening program.

This event not only offers an opportunity to engage with energy professionals and learn more about capabilities and growth in the biomass sector but to also celebrate innovation and the continued growth of the biomass heating sector in Minnesota and the Midwest.
