At its regularly scheduled board meeting on Thursday, January 16, 2014, the board of directors of the Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI) elected its officers for 2014. Officers of the board are elected every January. The positions, as follows, are:
- Chairman: Ron Obermoller, who represents Minnesota Soybean on AURI’s Board. This will be Obermoller’s second term as chairman. Obermoller is a producer from Brewster, Minn., who has been active in the Minnesota Corn Growers Association, National Corn Growers Association, Minnesota Pork Producers, Minnesota Soybean Growers Association and the Minnesota Soybean Research and Promotion Council for many years.
- Vice Chairman: John Gilbertson, who represents the Minnesota Farm Bureau on the AURI Board. Gilberston is a producer from Puposky, Minn., and represents county Farm Bureaus from North Central and North East Minnesota.
- Secretary/Treasurer: John Goihl, who represents agribusiness. Goihl is a nutritionist and owner/president of Agri-Nutrition Services, a direct service company serving feed manufacturers, larger livestock producers, ranchers, and vendors to the feed and livestock industry. Goihl is a member of the American Society of Animal Science.
