Lisa Martinez was born and raised in Grand Forks, ND, the heart of the Red River Valley. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Communication from the University of North Dakota, and brings more than a dozen years of experience working in marketing and communications. From 2010-2019, she worked at the United Way of Grand Forks, East Grand Forks and Area managing social media accounts and websites, coordinating events, and serving as media liaison, among other duties. Following her tenure at United Way, Lisa had the opportunity to join the Division of Marketing & Creative Services at her Alma mater where she managed projects for academic programs and colleges, helped develop and execute strategic marketing plans, and coordinated the development, production, and distribution of traditional and digital communications.
Lisa greatly enjoys being active and involved in her community. She is a longtime member of the Greater Grand Forks Young Professionals, where she served as Marketing Chair, and in 2017 was named Young Professional of the Year. Lisa is also a member of Valley MarComm and the Greater Grand Forks Women’s Leadership Cooperative. Additionally, she is a graduate of the Grand Forks Women’s Fund Leadership Academy class of 2021. In her spare time, Lisa enjoys traveling, practicing yoga, shopping at farmers markets, volunteering, and attending community events.
