Ag-based renewable energy in Minnesota has taken on many forms. From anaerobic digestion of dairy manure to wind power
and biofuels production, the industry is broad and impacts many people and communities.
The focus of Minnesota’s Renewable Energy Roundtable is to make the state the leader in renewable energy knowledge, application and utilization. The next Minnesota’s Renewable Energy Roundtable will take place at the MinnWest Technology Campus in Willmar, June 17th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The MNRER will be welcoming Congressman Collin Peterson to the event. He will provide a federal perspective on the state and future of bioenergy. Participants will also hear from two innovative energy companies, Hunt Utilities Group and Chippewa Valley Ethanol Coop. They will discuss their organization, what they are doing that is innovative in renewable energy, lessons they have learned along the way, and resources they have found helpful.
The Roundtable has had more than 500 individual participants representing nearly 200 organizations. Coordinated by AURI, the Roundtable is guided by leadership from the Office of Energy Security, the University of Minnesota, Minnesota State College and University System, the Department of Agriculture and more.
