What do AURI and cats have in common? On February 26th they’ll share the spotlight on a national television show. 
Must Love Cats, aired on Animal Planet, is a series of one hour programs celebrating felines and the people who love them. This series journeys to the center of the feline universe and features feline stories, cat facts and trivia bits.
AURI scientist Alan Doering and the organization’s coproduct utilization program will be featured in the February 26th episode on cat litters. AURI has been involved with the testing and development of bio-based animal litters, including Swheat Scoop wheat-based cat litter made in Detroit Lakes.
“This is a great opportunity to showcase the capabilities AURI has for developing innovative, ag-based products,” Doering says. “We have had a great deal of experience working with Minnesota companies to create biobased products. This should be a fun way to share that story with people who don’t know a lot about AURI.”
The show’s host and a production crew spent an entire day at AURI’s Waseca facility last summer gathering video footage and information for the show. The episode featuring AURI airs February 26th at 7 p.m. on Animal Planet.
