AURI Hosts Grand Opening of New Bioindustrial Innovation Center to Kick off 2024 New Uses Forum

To kick off the 2024 New Uses Forum, the Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI) is hosting an open house and networking reception at its new Bioindustrial Innovation Center from 4 to 7 p.m. April 8, 2024. AURI’s Bioindustrial Innovation Center is located at 280 University Drive SW, Waseca, MN, 56093. The Bioindustrial Innovation Center is a 30-minute drive from Mankato, where the New Uses Forum will be held the next day.

The center opened in January 2024 and roughly doubled AURI’s pilot lab footprint. With financial support from the state of Minnesota, AURI invested in new equipment to catalyze the commercial market expansion of ag-derived products. The center has capabilities in anaerobic digestion, biomass drying, decortication, and oilseed pressing, as well as densification and processing operations.

This event is free and open to the public. Registration can be completed at the New Uses Forum event page or by RSVPing to Linda Thompson at lthompson@auri.org. Members of the media are invited to attend.

At the April 8 event, guests will have an opportunity to tour the facility and network with state and federal elected officials, researchers, academics, representatives from the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, members of farm and commodity organizations, and business leaders in the value-added agriculture space.
