Lea Reitmeier is the Project and Contracts Coordinator for the Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI), with the responsibility of conducting research on current value‐added agricultural and rural development issues.
Reitmeier’s role includes reviewing literature and supplying synopsis information for the development of initiatives, projects and grants. As part of the AURI project team, she works to assess grant funding and co‐funding opportunities. Her role at AURI also includes serving as a liaison to organizations and speaking engagements, promoting AURI’s mission, goals and outcomes.
Prior to her work at AURI, Reitmeier was a paralegal for over 12 years at Anderson & Bottrell Law Firm in Fargo, ND, where she worked in agricultural law, banking law, real estate and contract law among other areas of the practice. She went on to work as Executive Assistant to the bank President and a Loan Operations Analyst at Bank Forward in Grand Forks, ND, where she prepared commercial and agricultural loan documents.
Reitmeier is a graduate of the Minnesota State University-Moorhead, receiving her Bachelor of Science in Legal Assistant/Paralegal. She is the recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award from Lawyers Cooperative Publishing for earning the top grade in legal research.
