The Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI) is a thriving, culture-centered, Minnesota based nonprofit dedicated to fostering long-term economic benefit through applied research on value-added agricultural products, focusing on coproducts, biobased products, renewable energy, and food. The vision of the organization is empowering the commercialization of innovative value-added food and agricultural ideas. Our dynamic, mission driven staff assist entities across the agricultural value chain, from producers to entrepreneurs to corporates, to help overcome technical and commercialization challenges to create novel agricultural and food products that increase commodity utilization and benefit Minnesota’s economy.
AURI seeks a Communications Coordinator to execute the organization’s public relations strategies to enhance, influence and promote the AURI brand and its sub brands, as well as its quarterly newspaper. Responsibilities include coordinating and implementing a proactive marketing and communication strategy, Connects program communications and marketing, development and production of AURI’s quarterly newspaper (Ag Innovation News).
The selected candidate will hold a bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations or related area and have a minimum of two years of recent related experience in an agricultural and/or non-profit environment, three years is preferred. AURI offers a competitive salary. The position includes holiday, vacation and health leave along with enrollment in the State of Minnesota Retirement plan and the option to contribute to a deferred compensation plan. This position is eligible for health insurance benefits.
