AURI Seeks At-Large Board Member

The Agricultural Utilization Research Institute (AURI) seeks a diverse and highly skilled candidate to serve on its governing board to fill an at large seat. AURI board members have a strong interest in advancing opportunities for the food and agricultural industry and are committed to the organization’s values, including respect, dedication, teamwork, trust, resourcefulness, enthusiasm and safety and are dedicated to promoting diversity, equity and inclusion. The ideal candidate for the open board seat should demonstrate AURI’s values and have leadership skills and experiences in one or more of the following areas: strategic planning and execution, commercializing food/ag technologies, scaling innovative opportunities, and/or fund development as it relates to AURI’s mission. This Board of Director seat is a three-year term with a time commitment of up to seven meetings per year and some optional activities, which occur at various locations throughout Minnesota. AURI’s mission is to foster long-term economic benefit for Minnesota through value-added agricultural products. The vision is empowering the commercialization of innovative value add food and agriculture ideas. The organization strives to find new uses for traditional, unexplored or overlooked agricultural commodities and products.

In FY2020, AURI worked on over 140 projects and clients reported AURI assistance helped them increase new gross annual sales by over $320 million. AURI partners with producers, businesses, entrepreneurs, the Minnesota Legislature and several other organizations to bring ideas to reality for the purpose of increasing commodity utilization, product viability and market expansion.

Please submit a letter interest along with a summary of qualifications via email or U.S. mail by December 3, 2021. The election for the open seat will occur during the AURI Board of Directors annual meeting on January 20, 2022.
